Ben & Jerry’s x NYC Mental Health Awareness

What Are You, A Child?

In the hustle and bustle of New York, stress and anxiety are part of daily life, with 1 in 5 adults struggling with mental health. Ben & Jerry’s created the "What Are You, a Child?" campaign to show that tapping into your inner child can help combat those feelings.

There’s no denying that life can be pretty stressful sometimes, especially in New York City.

In fact, 1 in 5 adults in the city are diagnosed with anxiety or depression.

Ben and Jerry’s “What Are You, A Child” campaign provides avenues for adults to reconnect with their childlike sense of self, through pint redesigns and a New York City take-over of your favorite childhood games.

Scoop Your Inner Child NYC Commute Takeover

We targeted places New Yorkers are very familiar with — the subway, Wall Street, and Central Park—and turned them into playful, nostalgic recess games like monkey bars and hopscotch. The idea was simple: make life a little more playful, reduce stress, and remind everyone to let their inner child feel happy again.
